1st LT Thomas Paxton
Sherwood corresponded with hundreds of former 381st Bomb Group members
from 1976 to 1999. He organized the 381st Memorial Bomb Group Association
and envisioned a memorial to the group to be placed at their former
base - Ridgewell England. The men contributed, organized and together
they reached their goal and erected the 1st black granite memorial in
memory of the sacrifice of so many fine young men.
His archives inclued ~ .3 file cabinet drawers of ~ 2,000+ letters & cards. Below you can access each years correspondence index. Some correspondence has been scanned in and saved as a PDF file. The index will show which documents could be provided as a PDF without pulling the actual letter from the files.
